Additional Info Since 1974 the festival has grown and evolved. It now encompasses two full days of celebration! For those who would like to learn more about the culture there are films and slides on Holland, Dutch Folk Art, and a style show of traditional Dutch clothes. Some who attend are here for the food! You can attend the traditional Dutch dinner on Friday evening, try a fresh pastry on Saturday morning or enjoy one of the many food vendors that travel from all over the region to participate. You can also spend quality time looking through the more than 100 Arts & Crafts vendors.
You can’t miss the entertainment! Klompen dancers appear in the streets to show you how to folk dance in their traditional wooden shoes. You can even pick up a pair of custom made wooden shoes for yourself! The excitement starts to gather in the afternoon when The Burgomaster, our Mayor for you non-Dutch speakers, and Town Crier inspect the streets to see if they are ready and clean enough. The street sweepers come through and water and brooms fly down the street to prepare for the parade. During the parade you will see authentic Dutch costumers, bands, floats and many other entertaining units!
