Additional Info The Fifteenth Annual Spring Planting Day will be on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Bandy Creek and the Lora Blevins homeplace in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Join park neighbors, volunteers and park staff as they demonstrate skills and tools that were important to a subsistence farming community on the Cumberland Plateau.

This event will feature plowing and planting done by mule and horse teams, traditional craft demonstrations and sales items, antique farming equipment and gardening. Music will be presented by the Knoxville Area Dulcimer Club and Great Day in The Morning. Children will be delighted by the old timey toys, farm animals and a special Junior Ranger booklet to complete.

The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Everyone is invited to attend this free event. Food and crafts will be available for purchase or bring your picnic lunch and enjoy the day.
